National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)
The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is administered by the Indiana University Centre for Post-Secondary Research to first and graduating year undergraduate students in direct-entry programs. The survey is based on extensive research that shows that the "time and energy students devote to educationally purposeful activities is the single best predictor of their learning and personal development." Further information can be obtained by visiting the NSSE website .
The survey measures the extent to which students are engaged in a variety of good educational practices, grouped into five benchmarks: Level of Academic Challenge, Active and Collaborative Learning, Student-Faculty Interaction, Enriching Educational Experiences and Supportive Campus Environment.
